As I'm sure you've noticed the last few posts have been pretty devoid of much action and long on messing around with transportation and antiques markets, well today has a bit of a change. We didn't go to any brocante market, but we did keep messing around with tickets. We found that tickets using the German railway ticket site was markedly less expensive for the same trains as the French sites so today I booked our trip online from Paris to Berlin and from Berlin to Prague saving over half of what it would have cost using SNCF, the French railway system. In addition I made reservation for a hotel in Berlin. I tried to make reservations for a trip we're taking with our friends the Preussers to the Lot but at that point I suspect my credit card was having cramps because they refused to take payment.

So I had to make a field trip while Deb was cleaning the apartment a bit. I managed somehow to wound a pair of my shoes and I needed to get some Shoo Goo to see if I can fix them myself , since all the shoe repairs refused to take on the project. So I found a shop that sells it and I went down to buy some and that was very easy. On the way back I stopped at Gare de l'Est and stood in line again to try and purchase tickets there, and even that went off without a hitch. So score two for the home team. I was going through drawers today and found several T-shirts that I had forgotten I brought over. They would have been good this summer when it was really hot, but hey I have them now and if it turns hot again I'm prepared.
So today had about the same Paris dream quality as a drab dishrag, but hey it's part of real life. Now for tomorrow!
