We're really moving into fall here now. The leaves are turning and the air is cool and the breeze seems to be continual, just like it was in the early spring. However it's not a cold as it was when we first arrived, I can be comfortable with a sweater and sports jacket over a shirt and there was no way back then. This is what we have to look forward to, ah a tough life indeed.

Today we did one of our favorite weekend activities, a couple brocante markets. We started out by walking up to the south side of Parc Buttes-des-Chaumont, now this is an all uphill walk so we were definitely "warmed up" when we got to the first sale, but no matter. With the blood flowing, our brains were in tip-top form and we managed to find, nothing of great significance. Although Deb did find a beautiful russet silk jacket from Viet Nam for 5 euros. We then jumped on the bus and headed to another sale which turned out to be a non-starter, my guess is that the map they posted was not accurate. No matter, we just boarded the bus again and found the next one which was only about a quarter mile below the last one. It was very big and crowded with lots of sellers, undaunted we headed into the melee. We've worked to overcome our instinctive reticence about diving into the Hive! Deb just reminded me to think about our adventures in Chandni Chowk, the major Indian market in Old Delhi that we visited one day, compared to that this is a walk in the park. Not a cow or goat to be seen, unless it was porcelain. We did find an interesting plate, totally out of context over here, and over 80 years old. The woman said it was Japanese Raku but the mark on the bottom says Dedham pottery so for 4 euros I took the plunge. It will be fun to see what we can get on Ebay!

We got back early and started focusing on our trip to Berlin the day after tomorrow, but I did take time to watch France play Ireland in World Cup Rugby. France lost but it was a good match nonetheless, it's hard to be really
partisan for that matchup. Good luck to both teams.
