Today we woke up to rain, not particularly light rain either but not a gully washer. We had planned to take Jim out to La Defense at some point as it's the really modern face of Paris where many large corporations have their offices. Today seemed like the perfect day since all we had to do was walk over to the Tram and take the 3 trains around to exactly where we wanted to be.

Luckily the rain had dropped to almost nothing by the time we got to the first train change and basically ceased by the time we got to the second, so we had a nice view of the southwestern corner of the city. By the time we got to La Defense, it was merely cloudy and it stayed that way well into the afternoon.
We had lunch at an indoor cafe which was very convenient and then made our way down to the bus station for a ride over to the Bois de Boulogne for a walk over to the Fondation Louis Vuitton, aka the Frank Gehry museum building.
Deb and Jim went in while I waited out in front, I've been 4 times already and a 5th would have been overkill. So they went around inside and marvelled at the views from the upper viewing levels.

After a bit they came bouncing out and we grabbed the special bus that transports visitors from the museum to the Etoile Charles De Gaulle where the Arc de Triumph is located. Jim spent a few minutes admiring the Arc after which we boarded a bus that took us down the length of the Champs Elysee and to an intersecting bus stop with the bus that would take us back to the apartment. After the couple walking days we've just had a day on the transport seemed like exactly what the doctor ordered.
It has come to my attention that people are attempting to leave comments on the blog and seem to be having problems? I have received comments from several of my friends and family so I'm sure that they work. I'll ask my niece what she does and pass the information along. I'd love to have comments as I only get second hand information that people are reading the blog. Of course, with my rapier wit you may be hesitant but please don't be...
Lindsey had her baby on Thursday the 20th, He is cute.
